About Tara Daye

Tara Daye is a distinguished student-athlete whose journey is defined by exceptional discipline, resilience, and achievement across both academics and athletics. From an early age, she demonstrated uncommon determination, embracing a mindset rooted in consistency, perseverance, and confidencequalities that have guided her path and shaped her success.

Tara first gained national recognition in track and field, setting a record in the 1400-meter race at an AAU meet hosted at Duke University. She went on to rank first in the nation in the 800-meter event and second in the 400-meter event within her age group, establishing herself as an elite competitor early in her athletic career.

Her athletic versatility extended across multiple sports, including swimming, gymnastics, soccer, volleyball, cross-country, and basketball. Simultaneously, Tara maintained outstanding academic performance, ultimately graduating as Valedictorian of University High School in Newark, New Jersey.

In basketball, Tara distinguished herself through both adaptability and leadership. Initially playing as a power forward, she made the strategic transition to point guard despite limited experience at the position. Through focused training and determination, she developed into one of the top point guards in her region, earning recognition for her high-level play and competitive performances against elite athletes.

Following her high school career, Tara pursued a postgraduate year at Blair Academy, where her performance earned her a full athletic scholarship to DePaul University. At DePaul, she secured a position in the starting lineup, recorded a single-game high of 12 assists—tying a program record—and received Freshman of the Week honors.

Committed to further growth and broader opportunities, Tara continued her collegiate career through the transfer portal, including time at St. John's University before ultimately joining Purdue University. At Purdue, she earned the starting point guard role and concluded the season as the team's leading scorer and rebounder, underscoring her impact and versatility on the court.

Tara Daye's accomplishments reflect not only her athletic talent, but also her unwavering work ethic, adaptability, and commitment to excellence. Her journey serves as a testament to perseverance in the face of adversity and a continued pursuit of success at the highest level.
